On March 26, the groundbreaking ceremony of Cospowers' 1.5GWh sodium-ion battery production line project was held in Changde Factory. Tan Ding, Standing Committee of Changde Municipal Committee and Vice mayor of Changde Municipal Government, Che Shizhong, Secretary of the Party Working Committee of Changde Jingkai District, Fang Zhiwei, deputy secretary of the District Party Working Committee and director of the Management Committee, Songbai, general manager of Changde Cospowers, Yang Xueping, Deputy Secretary General of Changde City People's Government, Tang Haifang, Deputy Minister of the Organization Department of Changde Municipal Committee and Director of the Municipal Civil Service Bureau, Zhang lihui, vice general manager of Changde Cospowers attended the launch ceremony. After the production line is put into operation, the sodium battery production capacity of Cospowers will be upgraded to more than 2GWh.

Tan Ding, member of the Standing Committee of the Changde Municipal Committee and Vice Mayor of the Municipal People's Government, announced the start of the project. Fang Zhiwei, deputy secretary of the Party Working Committee and director of the Management Committee of Changde Jingkai District, delivered a speech. Fang Zhiwei said that sodium battery technology is the current new energy storage field of forward-looking technology, with great development potential. Changde Jingkai zone will vigorously support Changde Cospowers to become bigger and stronger, and hope for Changde Cospowers’ continuous innovation, leading the industry's new technology R&D and product development.

Dr. Song Bai, general manager of Changde Cospowers, pointed out in the project report that the launch of Changde Sodium-battery production line is an important milestone for Cospowers, which represents the determination of Cospowers to lay out the whole industry chain of sodium-ion batteries with high quality, and marks the effective implementation of Cospower' lithium-battery + sodium-battery dual-wheel drive technology strategy.

At present, Cospowers has become the first echelon of domestic research and development in the field of sodium battery, and has made a series of technological breakthroughs and application achievements. In 2022, Cospowers and Central South University, Harbin Institute of Technology, Harbin Engineering University jointly carried out sodium battery research and development;

In mid-2023, Cospowers was selected in the first national sodium-ion battery evaluation list;

The smart sodium electric series products launched in the second half of 2023 have taken the lead in successfully entering the commercial application of communication energy storage.
